MUP 2025
PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR CANCELLATION DETAILS
MUP 2025 HAS BEEN CANCELLED!!
SEE BELOW FOR A STATEMENT FROM OUR EVENTS DIRECTOR.
The 32nd Annual MUP Tour, has been cancelled.
Why?
We know this isn’t the message you were hoping to see on this page. MUP is a special ride, and we feel the same way. That said, in order to keep multi-day events like MUP viable—not just for the ride itself, but for the broader mission of supporting better bicycling across Michigan—we rely on a minimum number of participants. Unfortunately, registration is currently well below that threshold, and it’s become clear we won’t reach the numbers needed in time.
Given that, we can’t move forward with the tour this year without putting a strain on our resources, which would limit the impact we’re working to make throughout the state.
Now what?
Here’s what we’re offering:
➔ Transfer to one of our other 2025 events:
-Transfer to Sunrise and we’ll reimburse the price difference.
(June 12-15): Beautiful beaches and relaxed vibes.
-Transfer at no extra cost to Shoreline.
(Aug. 2-9): A classic, stunning tour of Michigan’s coastline.
-Transfer to Leaf Pile Pedal and we’ll reimburse the price difference.
(Oct. 9-12): Bikepacking adventure with fall colors and campfire hangs.
We would absolutely love to see you at one of these other 2025 events. The best parts of MUP, community, stunning views, and a whole lot of fun, are alive and well at all our other tours. Like MUP, all our multi-day rides support LMB’s bike advocacy and education efforts across the state.
➔ Defer your registration: Ride with us in 2026 or beyond at any LMB event, your registration stays good.
➔ Get a refund: As outlined in our event refund policy, no hard feelings.
Please reply to this email by June 6 to let us know your choice. We’ll make the necessary arrangements and have your account settled by July 30.
We are still going to produce the jerseys and will ship those to folks after they are produced hopefully right about the time MUP would have occurred. Per our policy merchandise is not refundable and will be produced and fulfilled.
To be clear, LMB isn’t going anywhere. And neither are our events! The world’s changing — costs, volunteer power, rider interests — and we’re evolving right along with it. We’re determined to deliver a portfolio of rides that are sustainable, unforgettable, and celebrate the best of Michigan’s cycling scene.
We’re sincerely sorry for any disruption this causes to your summer plans. Cancelling MUP was a heavy decision made with a lot of heart. We wanted to let you know now, not later, so you have time to plan and (hopefully) join us somewhere else instead.
Thanks for being part of this ride, whether it’s at Shoreline, Sunrise, Leaf Pile Pedal, or wherever the road or trail takes you next. Michigan’s bike future is still looking bright, and it’s because of riders like you.
If you have questions or need help with your next steps, please contact Events Director Neal Glazebrook at [email protected].

Going back to the east
Back to the roots of MUP for 2025! We are going back to the eastern side of the U.P. Showing love to the past but with a new style of route – mixed surface.
Who is this event for?
Folks that love mixed surface riding!
You can ride a bike with wider tires that can handle mountain bike trails, seasonal roads, sand, gravel, and multi-use paths. Final route should be about 70% pavement and 30% gravel, trail, or seasonal road. Tires should be 38c or larger and able to handle these conditions. MUP is no longer a pavement only based event.

“The LMB staff and volunteers at the MUP went above and beyond to ensure the cyclists had a fantastic trip. The routes were great. The catered food was amazing. It was hard not to overeat every day because the food was so good. It was my first trip with the LMB, and it won’t be my last. There were many people on the trip that came from several other states too. Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places to ride. This is one trip, that everyone must do, at least once.”
Jan Mack, Frequent touring rider and Wish-a Mile #teamalex participant.
