Mountain, hybrid, cyclocross, and gravel bikes will have a blast on the routes. If you are using a standard road bike or touring bike, consider fitting wider tires for comfort. All main routes on MUP this year are paved with some bypasses on gravel.

These amazing desings by artisit Brian Lee Fritz will be a great momento of your experience on MUP.

Brain Lee Fritz - Artist Statement

For me, the MUP artwork this year is about experiencing something bigger than yourself. The Pictured Rocks have been carved away by wind and rain and the lake and ice for millennia; nature’s sculptor. For the centerpiece, we have the iconic Lover’s Leap arch, the destination of many a paddle boat tour on Lake Superior. Enjoy the vast untouched wilderness of the great Upper Peninsula when you ride MUP this summer and take a little of it back home with you on your jersey.

“The LMB staff and volunteers at the MUP went above and beyond to ensure the cyclists had a fantastic trip. The routes were great. The catered food was amazing. It was hard not to overeat every day because the food was so good. It was my first trip with the LMB, and it won’t be my last. There were many people on the trip that came from several other states too. Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places to ride. This is one trip, that everyone must do, at least once.”

Jan Mack, Frequent touring rider and Wish-a Mile #teamalex participant.
